Would you make a good career coach? Here is a view from one man: Dan Miller
People ask me daily - "Dan, can I be a coach?" And my response is always - "Have you earned the right to be a coach? Are people already asking you for your advice and opinion?" If no one is seeking you out for your expertise now, getting "training" is not going to make you a coach. And the counterpoint is also true - if people are already looking to you for leadership and counsel, then it's clear you have earned the right to coach - and training will simply make you better.
Knowledge about coaching is not enough. You can study, get degrees and "certification" and still not attract any clients.
